As an orchestra player, twenty-four year old Bouriakov is the Principal Flutist for the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland and often plays as Principal Flutist with the London Philharmonia, Leeds Opera North, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and Russian Orchestra of London.

Bouriakov recently won four of the world's most highly-esteemed international flute competitions in Kobe, Japan, Rampal Competition in France, the Nielsen Competition in Denmark and Munich, Germany.  In addition to these achievements, Bouriakov also received the Principal's award from the Royal Academy of Music where he taught during his 2005-2005 fellowship.

Born in Crimea, he received his education the Moscow Central Special Music School where he studied with Dolzhikov. In 2000 he studied with William Bennett in London.  During his years with Bennett, he won prizes at international competitions such as PMF in Japan, Tunnel Trust Easter School in Scotland, and the Santander 2004 Festival in Spain. A well known recitalist and soloist even at his young age, Denis has appeared in concert tours in over 20 countries in Europe, Asia, South America and the USA.  As a soloist, he has perfomed with the Moscow Symphony, Moscow Philharmonic, Moscow Virtuosos, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble of Tokyo and Odense Symphony.

Most recently, Denis Bouriakov performed two Headliner Concerts at the NFA Convention in San Diego CA in August of 2005. He can be heard with William Bennett on his latest CD with the English Chamber Orchestra performing the J.S. Bach Double Concerto.
